EMR Salford partners with The Salford Foundation to support youth empowerment

Local business, EMR Metal Recycling, based on West Egerton Street in Salford, has donated £2,000 to The Salford Foundation’s youth support programmes.

The Salford Foundation will use the donation to provide mentoring support and interview clothing for young people who can’t afford suitable attire, as well as monthly CV training sessions to help boost their employment opportunities.

Additionally, a portion of the funding will be used to provide access to recreational activities (such as boxing and football) for young people in Salford to help them develop key skills.

As well as making a monetary donation, EMR Salford has also committed to supporting the charity by setting up a referral scheme for young people (18+) who might be potential candidates for job openings on the West Egerton Street recycling site.

The company will work with The Salford Foundation to organise group site tours and work experience opportunities.

As part of the partnership, The Salford Foundation has offered to educate EMR Salford’s site staff about the services and support the charity offers young people in the area to encourage them to volunteer and help mentor local young people.
