EMR helps to e-enable young people through partnership with Erith school

Local metal recycler, EMR Erith based on Manor Road, has partnered with St Pauls (Slade Green) Church of England Primary School to e-enable more pupils to support them in catching up on the lost hours of learning as a result of COVID-19.

EMR has donated IT equipment to support young people in their education, enabling them to research new learning opportunities and practice their numeracy and literacy skills.

Wendy Cornford, Principal at St Paul’s (Slade Green) Church of England Primary School described, the difference the donation has made:

“The donation has already made a significant impact on the children's learning. In particular, the children have gained greater independence and are using the Chromebooks to research different subjects. We are very grateful for this donation and look forward to further seeing the difference it will make to the children's learning.”

The Primary School is one of a number of schools, charities and community groups to benefit from EMR’s Young Futures Reimagined Programme, an initiative which aims to improve the futures of young people who have been impacted by circumstances outside of their control.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted the education of children across the world, so it is more important than ever to support them in accessing vital resources. This equipment will allow them to catch up on lost hours of learning and ultimately drive their success. I look forward to witnessing all the things that these young people will go on to achieve.”
